Budimir Rosic
Before joining Oxford, Professor Budimir Rosic was a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) senior research fellow and college lecturer in engineering at the University of Cambridge.
He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Belgrade, Serbia, where he also worked as a researcher in the turbomachinery and power plants group (faculty of mechanical engineering). During that time he was involved in research and consultancy of steam turbine related problems, and power plant monitoring and performance tests.
Budimir undertook his Ph.D. research at the University of Cambridge’s Whittle Laboratory in collaboration with Siemens Power Generation under the supervision of Dr. John Douglas Denton. He investigated, experimentally and numerically, the aerodynamics of low aspect ratio turbines and leakage flows, and earned his Ph.D. in 2005.
He has been an ASME member since 2002 and has served on IGTI’s Turbomachinery Committee since 2004. He was a recipient of ASME’s 2006 Gas Turbine Award and again in 2011, he was recognized for the co-authored paper titled “Controlling Tip Leakage Flow Over a Shrouded Turbine Rotor Using an Air-Curtain.” He received ASME’s Gas Turbine Award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the literature of combustion gas tur

VISITING FELLOWSHIPS 2011–12
The College proposes to elect a number of Visiting Fellows, for periods of one, two, or three terms, in the academic year October 2011 to June 2012. These Fellowships are intended to enable their holders to carry out study and research in Oxford, and to participate in the academic life of the College and the University. Visiting Fellows are expected to be resident in Oxford during the tenure of the Fellowship. Visiting Fellowships are open in all subjects. Applications will be considered from staff of any university or other institution of higher learning, and from other suitably qualified persons who wish to carry out full-time scholarly work in Oxford, including work that engages with public life. In making its final choice, the College will give weight to intellectual quality, to the interest and feasibility of the research project, and to the relevance for it of residence in Oxford. It is not the College’s policy to offer Visiting Fellowships to persons holding posts in Oxford or already resident in or near Oxford.
There is no stipend, but Visiting Fellows will be entitled to accommodation, a study in College, and lunches and dinners without charge. Limited financial subvention may also be offered in ex
