Paolo Manalo is a Filipino poet who received his BA and MA in Creative Writing from UP Diliman. He currently works as an Assistant Professor at the University of the Philippines, where he teaches English literature, creative writing, and comparative literature. Manalo's first book of poems, Jolography, was published in by the University of the Philippines. In the book, Manalo explores using English in a way that addresses Filipino realities and develops a third poetic language between "pure English" and "pure Filipino." Jolography won several literary awards in the Philippines.
