Dominique Cerejo, the singer, mesmerised listeners with her rendition of ‘Yeh tumhari meri baatein’ in Rock On. Sung in a sensually soothing voice, the track made the hitherto unknown singer a singing sensation overnight. She thinks, that with new music directors making their foray into Bollywood, Bollywood music is in a new phase of evolution. A few of the recent songs have a much more global appeal, and music directors are always looking out for fresh voices and singers who bring a lot of individuality and personality to the songs and that gives her and others a lot of opportunities. She has been part of several bands, including Faces in the Dark that she is currently associated with.
Dominique has worked in The Tamil & Telegu movie industry for about many years, prior to being now recognised in the Hindi film industry. She has worked with A.R. Rahman quite extensively!
Dominique is married to Clinton Cerejo, who is also in the music industry and worked in many Hindi movies with leading music directors as playback singer, programmer, etc. They met when they were at college. Dominique is currently working on a couple of films and her own album

Career
[edit]Dominique used to frequently participate in the competitions held by the Church of her locality and took singing classes later on to get well trained. She also lent her voice to various advertisement jingles. Her first break came when Shankar Mahadevan, who worked with her while doing jingles, invited her to sing for the title track for the first album by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, Dus.[2] Though the movie was shelved due to the death of the director Mukul Anand, she went on to sing many tracks for Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy and other major composers like A.R.
