From the start, Bill Gates was always messing with computers and trying to figure out how stuff works. He attended Highschool and spent a lot of time in the computer labs. There he met Paul Allen who is two years older than him. Gates and Allen would go along to study computer programming and found Micro-Soft, later to be called Microsoft after Allen's departure. The book then tackles Gates college years and how it is speculated that he may have been kicked out of Harvard along with the decision to drop out. His family was pissed that he dropped out of Harvard even though he promised his father that he would return and finish his degree, but he had to chase his job offer in New Mexico to program new computers. After founding Microsoft he started donating money towards scholarships and charity becoming a philanthropist. Gates met his wife Melinda Ann French when she was working for him at his company.
Bill Gates has severely impacted the American society because without his advancements in computers we may not be able to enjoy all of the nice technology we have today, like fast computers and phones.
